We are so delighted to welcome author, award-winning therapist, teacher, trainer and public speaker Giuliana Wheater Fenwick to work with Special Yoga. She has featured in media such as The Daily Mail, BBC Radio, FHT International Therapist magazine, Autism Eye, Autism Parenting Magazine and many others. She writes regular articles for ICare4Autism and Differentbrains.org and has run training for charities such as MIND and autism charities and organisations across the UK and Europe.
A complementary therapist for nearly twenty years, Giuliana’s specialised work with autism and other different abilities stemmed from the journey with her own autistic son, Ollie. He changed her whole life! She shares her personal and professional expertise and knowledge as a mother and therapist in every way she can and in every moment she possibly can. Her book, Indian Head Massage for Special Needs, was just the start.
This refined and specialised massage focuses on meeting the child where they are at that moment, with a menu of gentle, supportive and non-invasive massage techniques which Giuliana first began to practice eight years ago through working with her own son.
Techniques and tools will be shared to reduce anxiety, to alleviate and even overcome issues and challenges so that each individual child can bloom to their full potential. Therapists, teachers, parents and carers can use the techniques and the child too can learn to self-regulate and self-manage. A wealth of neuroscience and up-to-the minute research is behind this methodology, and this will be shared during the course.
The day will start at 10am and end at 6pm. Please do not schedule travel or other commitments at a time which will require you to arrive late or leave early.
